Position Overview:

As part of the talented Lowe Boats team, you will use engineering principles to design, procure, install and validate manufacturing processes. You will also analyze and plan for labor utilization, equipment requirements, workflow, manufacturing space requirements and layout for maximum efficiency. Also, our ME’s interface with the development team from concept through start of production to ensure the successful launch of new products.

Apply Lean Six Sigma methodology to achieve goals and implement all activities across departments. Recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions through listening, engaging employees and problem solving.

Essential Functions:

  • Development of manufacturing processes by completing detailed engineering analysis of:
  • Process flow
  • Process labor planning & line balance
  • Material flow planning
  • Plant layout
  • Facilities requirement definition
  • Concurrent Product Process Design- Design for Manufacturing
  • Shop floor controls systems
  • Ergonomic analysis
  • Revise or develop Standard Work
  • Andon/Plant visual management
  • Process failure mode and effect analysis
  • Revise or develop manufacturing Standards
  • Work with cross functional team to update/create PFMEA and assure part measurement validation with Lab personnel
  • Thinks Analytically - The ability to break down problems and gain understanding to make effective decisions
  • Drives for Results - The passion to set and meet high standards of performance
  • Influences Others - The ability to persuade others to support your agenda / objectives
  • Drives Accountability - The ability to establish clear, measurable goals and deliver on commitments
  • Other duties as assigned

Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Manufacturing or related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years in manufacturing engineering or related manufacturing area
  • Proficiency in Lean tools, data collection, analysis, and problem solving techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively among all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated organization and follow up skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and adapt to changing situations
  • Computer proficiency with various software including Microsoft, Excel, Powerpoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean six sigma Green Belt Certification by a recognized source preferred and demonstrated history a minimum
  • Ability to resolve conflict within team and across teams; investigates routine personnel issues in partnership with HR.
  • CAD 2D and 3D modeling
  • Marine industry experience

    Working Conditions:

    • Manufacturing environment
    • Safety equipment required: safety shoes, vision protection, hearing protection, and safety gloves

    The anticipated pay range for this position is $57,700 to $92,600 , annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for 10% annual discretionary bonus.

    At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
