Logistics Supervisor
We are seeking an experienced Logistics Supervisor to lead shipping, receiving, warehouse, and raw product receiving operations in a fast-paced manufacturing/produce environment.
The Logistics Supervisor will oversee daily logistics activities, coordinate employees and work assignments, support production and sales operations, and ensure products are moved safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively while meeting customer expectations.
This is a hands-on leadership position requiring strong organizational skills, computer proficiency, and experience with shipping/receiving, inventory management, and material handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate shipping and receiving operations, including forklift drivers and support personnel.
- Review shipping workloads, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and related documentation to establish priorities, assignments, and shipping methods.
- Optimize manpower planning and drive performance through key operational KPIs.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Sales, Quality, Maintenance, and other departments to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Assign work, monitor employee performance, provide training, and coach employees on company policies, procedures, safety, and job responsibilities.
- Oversee truck loading and unloading to ensure proper loading patterns, product protection, and safe handling practices.
- Maintain the cold chain throughout the shipping and receiving process.
- Investigate and respond to potential food safety incidents, contamination, foreign material, and cold chain issues.
- Oversee raw product receiving from scale through production, including cooling tube operations.
- Maintain accurate and timely raw product inventory records.
- Inspect forklifts and other material handling equipment and coordinate repairs with Maintenance or outside service providers.
- Maintain vehicle maintenance records and reports.
- Support Utilities team members by ensuring they have the appropriate tools, direction, and resources to complete daily responsibilities.
- Promote a strong culture of employee safety, food safety, GMP, and PPE compliance.
- Support company safety and health programs and compliance with applicable federal, state, county, national, and international regulations.
- Partner with Human Resources regarding employee relations and applicable labor laws.
- Complete required paperwork, reports, and documentation accurately and on time.
- Use training and performance-management programs to improve employee productivity, quality, and overall performance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Degree and 3+ years of related experience OR two years of college coursework and 5+ years of related experience.
- Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or inventory environment.
- Produce industry experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of freight handling and truck loading procedures.
- Valid driver's license.
- Forklift certification required; forklift trainer certification preferred.
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred; training will be provided.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn and effectively utilize NAV or similar ERP systems.
- Strong communication, organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across departments.
- Strong integrity, dependability, flexibility, and leadership skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Travel to Yuma, AZ and Salinas, CA is required.

- Requires hand dexterity and strength.
