FoodScience LLC is seeking a full-time Logistics Specialist to join our Distribution team in Waterbury, Vermont. WHAT YOU'LL DO HERE
As a Logistics Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring customer orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and efficiently. You'll help maintain inventory integrity, support shipping operations, and contribute to a safe and organized warehouse environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with team members.
In addition to supporting daily shipping activities, you'll help identify opportunities for process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall operational performance.
Order Fulfillment & Shipping
• Pick and pack customer orders accurately while following established procedures and pick tickets
• Maintain a high level of accuracy and quality throughout the fulfillment process
• Utilize First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory practices when selecting products
• Stage orders and prepare shipments to support on-time customer deliveries
• Complete shipping documentation and system transactions accurately and timely
• Communicate inventory, product, or location discrepancies to the Shipping Lead
Inventory & Warehouse Operations
• Support cycle counts and inventory verification activities
• Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy and organization throughout the warehouse
• Ensure products are handled in accordance with GMP and quality standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Support overall warehouse operations and assist with additional tasks as needed
Teamwork & Continuous Improvement
• Partner effectively with team members to support daily operational goals
• Demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, organization, and workflow processes
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture focused on safety, quality, and service
• Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and work effectively with minimal supervision

• Previous shipping, warehouse, fulfillment, logistics, or inventory experience preferred
Education & Background
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• One to two years of related warehouse, shipping, logistics, or distribution experience preferred
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
HOW SUCCESS IS MEASURED
• Consistently achieves a minimum 99.5% order accuracy rate
• Maintains inventory accuracy and supports successful cycle count activities
• Meets productivity and fulfillment expectations while maintaining quality standards
• Demonstrates strong teamwork, reliability, and accountability
• Contributes to continuous improvement efforts that enhance operational efficiency
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds, as well as regularly bend, twist, squat, stand, and walk throughout the workday. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a fast-paced warehouse environment with moderate noise levels. Employees may work in areas where the following allergens are present: milk, eggs, fish, peanuts, wheat, shellfish, soybeans, tree nuts, and gluten.
