Summary

In this role you will be responsible for managing all aspects of third party logistics including production planning, purchasing, inventory, warehousing, distribution and transportation. This position will be accountable for the safety, quality and productivity of the department and meeting applicable business objectives in order to continually improve the performance of the company. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage Third Party Logistic Providers to ensure On-Time and In-Full (OTIF) shipment deliveries in response to customer order requirements of 90%+
• Partner with Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Customer Service to facilitate shipping
• Manage and maintain all shipping paperwork and data
• Develop a budget and execute plans to eliminate identified excess shipping cost 
• Develop continuous improvement/productivity initiatives 
• Maintain high inventory accuracy at all inventory locations in SLFB network 
• Source and implement all transportation and warehouse providers
• Lead partnership with carriers to ensure that required assets are available in advance of shipping date and required pickup schedules are met. 
• Ensure all shipments are available for pickup based on scheduled cutoff times

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred and relevant job experience required 
• Experience in Food and Beverage, preferably Frozen/Refrigerated
• Experience in Pool Consolidation Programs
• Knowledge of both Food Service and Retail Customers and their expectations
• Experience in managing a Warehouse/Distribution Center
• Experience in contract negotiations in Freight and Warehouse
• Strong Analytical skills and Data Management expertise
• Experience in Managing multiple 3PL’s
• Experience in Network modeling and design
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Must be flexible and able to manage multiple priorities on a daily basis. 
• Start- up experience would be valuable
