We are looking for more than someone who knows how to move freight. We are looking for a someone who wants to understand how the entire business works, challenge what can be better, and build a logistics operation that scales with our growth.
The right person is entrepreneurial, mentally tough, analytical, and relentless about getting to the right outcome. You don't stop at what happened; you want to understand why it happened, where the process broke down, and what needs to change so it doesn't happen again.
This role requires someone who can operate at both levels: understanding the strategy and economics of logistics while being willing to get into the granular details of an order, shipment, carrier issue, process breakdown, or customer need.
You will take ownership of logistics execution and continuous improvement across our operation, including:
- Manage the end-to-end flow of finished product from production readiness through staging, shipping, carrier execution, delivery, and issue resolution.
- Build and improve logistics processes, standard work, reporting, and operating disciplines that support a growing business.
- Study freight spend, shipment volume, carrier performance, on-time delivery, damage, claims, expedites, accessorials, and other key performance indicators to understand where we are winning and where we need to improve.
- Develop strong carrier and vendor relationships while holding partners accountable for cost, service, capacity, and performance.
- Understand the entire process flow, not simply the Logistics portion, and identify upstream and downstream issues affecting execution.
- Partner closely with Production, Warehouse, Account Project Managers, Accounting, and other teams to solve problems at the root cause.
- Identify bottlenecks, unnecessary cost, manual handoffs, single points of failure, and opportunities to create greater scalability.
- Anticipate risks and solve problems before they become missed shipments or customer issues.
- Own issues through resolution rather than simply escalating or transferring the problem.
- Use facts and data to separate symptoms from root causes and verify that corrective actions actually work.
- Balance service, cost, capacity, productivity, quality, and customer expectations when making decisions.
What We Are Looking For
- Logistics, transportation, distribution, supply chain, warehouse, or related operational experience.
- Demonstrated experience improving or building logistics processes—not simply administering an established operation.
- Strong analytical capability and comfort using operational and financial data to make decisions.
- Experience managing carriers, freight, shipping execution, service performance, and logistics-related problem solving.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end operational process flows and cross-functional dependencies.
- Ability to identify root causes and translate findings into sustainable corrective actions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage immediate operational demands while driving longer-term improvements.
- Clear, confident communication and the ability to influence across functions and levels of an organization.
- Manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
You should be proficient in:
- Shipping/Receiving
- Warehouse Experience
- Material Handler Experience
- Distribution Experience
- ERP & MRP Systems
