The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.
We are seeking a Logistics Coordinator III to coordinate the day-to-day logistics activities for all transactions related to the movement of finished goods through the Company’s distribution system; to coordinate payment, collections, and cost containment activities within the logistics function; to coordinate and maintain off-site pool dunnage activities to assure adherence to policies, procedures, and contractual requirements. Supports a variety of logistical functions, including sourcing, receiving, purchasing, and dispatching. This role will be located at our cooperate headquarters in Vancouver, WA.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and dispatch truck and rail freight across production and offsite locations, ensuring timely and efficient transportation.
- Manage freight rates, contracts, and carrier negotiations, including obtaining competitive quotes and maintaining accurate freight system data.
- Oversee freight claims, payables, and recovery, including auditing freight invoices, processing claims, negotiating settlements, and tracking recoveries.
- Monitor transportation performance and compliance, including on-time shipping, railcar capacity/utilization, carrier performance, USDA requirements, and transportation agreements.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external carriers to resolve transportation issues, maintain strong carrier relationships, and ensure customer and delivery commitments are met.
Requirements:
- Associates degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation Management, Business Management, or related field; Bachelor degree preferred, with 1-2 years in a lead role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of transportation, logistics, supply chain administration, and contract administration, including the ability to enforce contractual obligations and ensure compliance.
- Strong administrative, organizational, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, process timely and accurate transactions and documentation, and handle expedited freight in a cost-effective manner.
- Excellent interpersonal, conflict management, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to maintain composure and professionalism in stressful situations.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and intermediate to advanced Excel capabilities, along with knowledge of standard office administration procedures and protocols.
- Demonstrated sound judgment, attention to detail, and discretion, including the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and make independent decisions effectively.
