SUMMARY OF POSTION The Logistics Coordinator is an individual responsible for working with a 3PL to operate and facilitate the daily work of the distribution center. Manages the performance reporting of the distribution center including inventory levels, warehousing, sourcing, receiving, and dispatching to minimize costs. In addition this role will also provide clerical support for inbound and outbound logistical operations across all Pure Safety Group sites.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Supervise all aspects of offsite facility, including but not limited to shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, inventory management, claims, budgeting
• Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly KPI’s to track and assess on-time shipping (OTS) performance to drive improvement
• Provide all required shipping documentation (Ocean Bill Of Lading, Packing List, Commercial Invoice, COO, etc.) for all imports and export functions
• Responsible for updating ERP with current and accurate delivery information, this includes OBL and customs release status
• Schedule all inbound international containers and coordinate empty returns
• Serve as the primary point of contact for logistics inquiries, claims and quotes
• Track and resolve shipping, warehouse, and carrier shipping errors
• Schedule and monitor all outbound freight and monitor shipments in transit
• Utilizing ERP system to confirm order and pack status
• Schedule RMA’s with customers and monitor shipments in transit
• Coordinate most cost-effective means to ship inter-company transfers
• Work with Logistics Manager to implement and maintain carrier score card
• Work closely with Planning, Product development, Customer Service and Logistics colleagues both inside and outside the company to drive efficiency
• Negotiate rates with carriers as needed
• Process and correct miscellaneous shipment cost issues/discrepancies
• Weekly 3PL site visits (local)
• Other duties as assigned
Required Competencies, Knowledge, Skills:
• High School Diploma/GED or associate degree preferred
• Ability to multi-task effectively, prioritize and execute against multiple priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrates excellent follow-up skills
• Problem solving and strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Experience:
• 2 year of Logistics experience in similar role preferred
• Warehouse management experience
• Experience with customer service
• Experience with US Customs Regulations
• Experience with all modes of transportation (Parcel, Rail, OTR, LTL, International Ocean/Air)
• Experience with contract negotiation and account management
• Experience with high value freight accounts is a plus
• Working knowledge of purchasing, distribution and warehouse flow
• Experience with TMS, training experience a plus
Computer/technology skills:
• Type 40+ wpm, proficient in 10 Key and computer knowledge
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products: Word, Outlook, Strong Excel skill (incl. Pivot, vlookup, etc.)
• Working knowledge of shipping software and websites (Worldship, etc)
• Epicor Vantage system experience is a plus
Physical Demands:
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
• Occasionally bending, reaching and squatting throughout the shift
• This position requires sitting for extended amounts of time. This position may require you to walk from the office areas into the warehouse or shipping departments.
