Logistics – Blast Operator

Blast & Surface Preparation | Heavy Manufacturing | Night Shift

Location: Riverside, Missouri

Job Type: Full-Time

Shift: Night Shift (New hires train on day shift for approximately one month before transitioning to nights.)

Pay: $22.00–$28.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Shift Differential: Additional 5% night shift premium

JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Blast Operator to join a heavy manufacturing operation in Riverside, Missouri.

This position is responsible for shot blasting and oxide blasting steel components of various sizes, preparing surfaces for painting and finishing, and ensuring all completed work meets quality and customer specifications.

The ideal candidate takes pride in producing quality work, follows safety procedures, and can work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Perform shot blasting and oxide blasting on steel components of various sizes.
• Load and unload parts and materials for blasting operations.
• Inspect blasted surfaces to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications.
• Clean and organize the blast area before and after each use.
• Maintain blasting equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist with paint shop operations and general facility and grounds maintenance.
• Prepare parts and equipment for shipment.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work safely in a heavy manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous forklift experience.
• Experience operating overhead cranes or other material-handling equipment.
• Previous experience in blasting, surface preparation, or industrial manufacturing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds periodically.
• Ability to climb, balance, walk, stoop, bend, and carry materials throughout the facility.
• Ability to work around heavy machinery and large industrial components.
• Ability to perform precision work requiring manual dexterity and close-range vision.
• Ability to work at heights of up to 20 feet on scaffolding.
• Ability to wear required PPE throughout the workday.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a physically demanding, hands-on manufacturing position involving exposure to dust, industrial equipment, and heavy materials.

Employees must wear required PPE in designated work areas, including the plant, blast house, paint shop, and yard.

The work environment is subject to seasonal temperature changes, including hot conditions during summer and cold conditions during winter.

SHIFT & SCHEDULE

• Full-time night shift position.
• New hires will train on day shift for approximately one month before transitioning to nights.
• Eligible employees receive an additional 5% shift differential.
• Overtime may be available based on production needs.
