Position Summary
The Logistics & Aviation Support Technician is responsible for maintaining, inspecting, repairing, inventorying, and deploying mission-critical equipment in support of aviation and contingency operations. This role combines logistics, warehouse operations, equipment maintenance, inventory control, and technical support to ensure all assigned equipment remains safe, serviceable, accurately accounted for, and ready for operational use.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Inspection
- Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, test, and repair assigned equipment using established maintenance procedures and technical documentation.
- Perform preventive maintenance, functional testing, and operator-level servicing.
- Identify equipment deficiencies and recommend repair or replacement.
- Ensure all equipment is clean, serviceable, and deployment-ready.
Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Receive, store, issue, package, and ship equipment and materials.
- Perform inventory counts, reconciliations, and accountability functions.
- Maintain accurate inventory and maintenance records using computerized inventory systems.
- Prepare equipment for storage, shipment, deployment, and long-term preservation.
Logistics & Transportation
- Load and unload equipment from commercial and government transportation.
- Stage, kit, and package equipment for deployment or operational use.
- Assist with shipping documentation and transportation scheduling.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
Technical Support
- Support maintenance and configuration of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and aviation-related equipment.
- Read and follow technical manuals, work instructions, engineering drawings, and maintenance procedures.
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment failures and conducting operational testing.
- Support field operations, exercises, and deployments as required.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all applicable safety policies, quality standards, and technical procedures.
- Handle hazardous materials in accordance with established regulations.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable technical orders, maintenance manuals, and quality requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
2–4 years of experience in one or more of the following:- Logistics
- Warehouse operations
- Aviation maintenance
- Military equipment maintenance
- Mechanical maintenance
- Supply or inventory management
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Experience reading technical manuals or work instructions.
Experience using hand tools and measuring devices.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior military experience (especially Air Force or aviation support).
- Experience with aviation support equipment or life support equipment.
- Forklift certification or material handling equipment experience.
- Experience with inventory management systems.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures.
- HAZMAT certification (or ability to obtain).
- Experience supporting deployments or contingency operations.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in warehouse, industrial, and outdoor environments.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
- Occasional travel in support of operational requirements.
