Job Overview:

Perform the duties of a local CDL-A Truck Driver for all E&E Manufacturing produced parts. This position requires an experienced driver familiar with all DOT regulations and able to transport trailers safety between the production plant and off-site warehouse

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

**

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Additional job duties may be assigned. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Ability to successfully and efficiently maneuver semi-trucks/ industrial trucks.

  • Ability to successfully drive a Hi-Lo/Forklift

  • Transport finished goods and raw materials to and from the manufacturing plant and off-site warehouse

  • Inspect vehicles and equipment for mechanical gaps or safety concerns, and perform some preventative maintenance activities

  • Plan driving routes and meet delivery schedules

  • Document and log driving time

  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, etc.) as well as with company policies and procedures

  • Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions safely

  • Collect and verify delivery instructions

  • Report defects, accidents, or violations for equipment, vehicles, and regular work processes

  • Complete other tasks assigned, including supporting other Shipping/Receiving forklift drivers in the plant and/or warehouse

**Work Environment

**

Work environment characteristics are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employees also may be subject to certain environments such as working near loud moving mechanical parts. The following environments include:

  • Wet or humid conditions (non-weather)

  • Outdoor weather conditions

  • Vibration

  • All PPE requirements for the plant production area will apply (including requirement to wear safety-toed shoes, sleeves, gloves, ear plugs and glasses)

**Noise Level

**

The noise level in the working environment will be moderate with slight traffic and the sound of presses and machinery. Ear protection may be required.

**Education/Experience/Certifications:

**

To effectively carry out duties and responsibilities in the job position the following education, experience, or certifications are preferred/required:

**Education:

**

  • High School Diploma or GED is required

**Experience:

**

  • One or more years of experience as a commercial driver (semi-truck/trailer)

  • Previous OTR and/or local CDL-A driving experience is strongly preferred

**Certifications:

**

  • Active and clean CDL-A license, registration, and DOT card

**

**

**Additional Skills Required:

  • Experience with basic computer systems (including MS Word and Excel)
