Lift Truck Mechanic | 1st Shift (Thomson, Ga)Position Overview
Essential Duties (considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility):
Maintain facility PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) equipment:
AGVs, lift trucks, tuggers, electric pallet jacks, articulating lifts, scissor lifts, single-man lifts, and floor scrubbers.
Perform routine PMs and repairs on PIT equipment and document.
Document weekly lift truck hour meter readings in shared spreadsheet.
Maintain lift truck battery station housekeeping.
Perform routine PMs on PIT equipment batteries.
Duties include cleaning, checking water level, and filling to correct water level. Perform daily inspection PM on the battery station chain hoist, gantry, and battery lifting beam.
Perform daily inspection of battery station PPE cabinet and restock as needed. Serve as attendant for battery changes at the battery station.
Collect, review, and file daily pre-drive inspection sheets.
Review sheets for completion, reported problems, and comments. Report problems or concerns to the supervisor in a timely fashion. Maintain spare parts and send out parts for repair and/or reconditioning.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Assist maintenance personnel with repair tasks as needed. Must be willing to cross train to become familiar with all departmental processes in the facility. Comply with job safety procedures, utilizing necessary PPE.
Perform all job duties using safe work methods.
Comply with procedures found in SMS.
Comply with Corporate Absenteeism and Tardiness Policy. Work normally scheduled days adhering to starting and stopping times.
Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
Assist other Maintenance personnel as needed.
Ability to sit, stand or walk for eight (8) to twelve (12) hours.
Ability to bend, stoop, squat, lift, carry and reach occasionally.
Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds frequently.
Ability to distinguish between colors.
Must have high school education, or its equivalent, plus at least two (2) years of post high school education, or its equivalent, in an industrial maintenance related field.
Must have at least one (1-2) years experience in an industrial environment or mechanical background.
Must possess good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Actively participate in the PRIDE process.
Must be able to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required.
