Job Overview:

Caltrol is hiring a Lifecycle Services Technician I in Taft, CA.

Caltrol is looking for a full-time Service Technician to join our team. You will provide field repair and shop services for valves, actuators, and general valve instrumentation, including maintenance, repairs, new installations, calibrations, and diagnostics. Our ideal candidate is a high-energy, self-starter with a background in process controls.

**You must have a valid driver's license in good standing and an excellent driving record. You must also be able to pass random hair follicle drug testing that includes testing for marijuana. **

Hiring Range

The hiring range for this position is** $30.00 - $35.00 p/hour.** This is the pay scale range Caltrol reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience of the candidate, along with the requirements of the position.

What you'll be doing:

  • Conduct on-site and in-shop repairs of valves, actuators, and instrumentation in the Caltrol shop(s) or at customer sites in the field.

  • Document testing processes and equipment repairs, including preparation of repair reports to maintain accurate records.

  • Inspect, evaluate, and verify accuracy of assembled units for conformance to standards and customer requirements, ensuring high-quality workmanship.

  • Accurately report working hours to ensure pay, billing, and processing of jobs in a timely manner.

  • Interact with customers providing service excellence.

  • Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times and strict adherence to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Stay current on all training, classes, and certifications needed to access customer facilities, ensuring compliance with all required standards.

What we're looking for:

  • High school diploma

  • 2+ years of working in a similar field.

  • Basic understanding of valves, actuators, and instrumentation.

  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, cranes, and forklifts.

  • Strong mechanical knowledge/competency.

  • Must be able to acquire a TWIC card.

  • Must be able to stay active on ASAP/DISA background and drug screening.

  • Must possess and maintain a Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

Travel

Ability to travel out of town/state for work up to 40% of the year. This position involves travel to various Caltrol, Emerson, and customer sites. Some overnight travel is required.

**Physical Demands: **

  • Must be able to wear the maximum level of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction, which may include, but is not limited to, hard hat, safety glasses, fire-resistant clothing, safety-toed footwear, hearing protection, respiratory protection, etc.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to walk and stand 8 hours per day.
  • Frequent climbing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping.
  • Hazards: Potential exposure to chemicals. Proximity to moving mechanical and mobile equipment.
  • Must be able to work outside in varying environmental conditions.
  • Ability to understand and safely use standard hand tools.
