This role will be responsible for the electrical troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance on various systems throughout the facility. The maintenance electrician will serve as a technical expert on control systems, HMI’s, and material handling equipment as well as performing installation and modification of equipment on new projects. This position provides the opportunity for overtime with on-call pay.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues on the machinery and make repairs
  • Ability to troubleshoot PLC issues on the machinery and make repairs
  • Emergency and general maintenance activities, including weekend and off-shift work
  • Develop, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and make changes to HMI’s, and controllers
  • Project installation activities as assigned by the Process Engineer
  • Analyze and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in equipment and related components, diagnosing and correcting the problems quickly to avoid production delays
  • Ensure company safety procedures are being adhered to
  • Regularly monitor & manage inventory levels for critical spare parts, and identify gaps
  • Complete a regular (weekly) safety walkthrough and compile a facility report at the detail level
  • Participate in all plant safety initiatives
  • Prioritize and repair safety related issues as defined by the safety committee and/or STOP Card program
  • Provide a regular (weekly) report of safety related repairs and status to the Process Engineer
  • Complete computer-based training on a monthly basis or when assigned
  • Compliance with all policies, procedures, and rules as established
  • Effective communication skills to communicate issues and solutions to cross-functional stakeholders
  • Consult/communicate regularly with all functional teams in the facility
  • Must be able to read instructions, 1-line diagrams, ladder logic, & manuals, and use meters, hand tools, and shop equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Valid Massachusetts Journeyman License
  • High school diploma
  • Associates degree a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience with HMI equipment preferred (company will provide training)
  • Allen Bradley CompactLogix PLC experience preferred (company will provide training)
  • Heavy industry experience with electrical systems and production equipment required
  • Two or more years of experience in electrical maintenance required.
  • Proficiency in preventative maintenance systems a plus.
  • Ability to work long or odd hours on your feet and lift 50+ lbs
