What You'll Do

As a Traveling Solar Field Service Electrician, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing utility-scale solar energy systems that power thousands of businesses.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on utility-scale solar sites
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
  • Test, repair, and replace electrical equipment
  • Service solar inverters, transformers, switchgear, combiner boxes, and associated equipment
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and one-line diagrams
  • Perform electrical testing and diagnostics
  • Complete service reports using tablets and mobile applications
  • Work directly with customers and internal engineering teams
  • Follow OSHA, NEC, and company safety standards
  • Travel extensively to project sites throughout Illinois

Qualifications

Required

  • Current Illinois Electrician License (Journeyman or equivalent)
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience reading electrical schematics and one-line diagrams
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check, MVR, and drug screen
  • Comfortable traveling up to 100%

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following is highly desired:

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Walk, climb, kneel, and stand for extended periods
  • Climb ladders and stairs
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Work safely on uneven terrain
  • Overnight travel as needed
