Position Overview

We are seeking a Level 2 Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience operating Haas 3-axis and 5-axis CNC mills, a strong understanding of G-code, and the ability to read and interpret complex blueprints. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in machining who is ready to take the next step in building their skills toward becoming a senior-level machinist.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills (Haas VF and UMC series).

• Load and inspect parts per print and quality standards.

• Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions.

• Perform tool offsets, work offsets, and basic edits at the control.

• Conduct in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools.

• Maintain proper documentation of parts and quality control records.

• Assist in fixture setup, work holding, and tooling adjustments.

• Work with supervisors and senior machinists to improve processes and reduce setup times.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of machining experience (CNC mill focus preferred).

• Experience operating Haas machines (VF, UMC series preferred).

• Ability to read blueprints and apply GD&T principles.

• Basic knowledge of G-code and editing at the machine.

• Familiarity with precision measuring equipment.

• Strong attention to detail, quality-first mindset.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a small, fast-paced team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with 3 and 5-axis machining.

• Exposure to CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar).

• Aerospace or defense industry background.

• Understanding of ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality standards.
