OBJECTIVE / PURPOSE
The Lead Systems Administrator will be technically responsible for maintaining the security, stability and integrity Carolina's computing and storage infrastructure. The Lead Systems Administrator will be the first point of contact involving all compute and security related issues on those devices. The Lead Systems Administrator will provide technical guidance to all junior staff. In addition, this position will work with the Systems Administrators in maintaining the networking infrastructure. The Lead Systems Administrator will participate with recommendations on all new purchases as well as future direction with this infrastructure. The Lead Systems Administrator will also be involved with desktop support as issues are escalated and will fill in as needed with desktop support. This is a specialized role that requires various technical and leadership skills.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Four year college degree or equivalent experience is required.
Experience: 10+ years experience with computing hardware and software. Leadership experience required.
Specialized Training/Skills: CCNP certification strongly preferred. Skilled and formally trained with Microsoft operating systems and server/desktop software. Skilled and formally trained on virtual server and desktop software preferably VMWare and Citrix desktop.
