In addition to performing the core job functions of the Warehouse/Regauge Operator, the Lead Regauge Operator will support business operations by encouraging productivity, cost savings, quality, on-time delivery, safety and employee morale. The Lead Operator will be in good standing in terms of attendance and work performance and will demonstrate the Brown-Forman values and behaviors in the course of performing their job tasks. In addition, this individual will help build a world-class team by providing training, leadership and coaching to team members for properly and safely performing work duties. This position may be required to rotate shifts as needed to ensure continuity of coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Develop rotation and plan for the shift, and conduct shift start/end meetings with the team.
  • Investigate line equipment and system failures, monitoring and recording downtime and partnering with supervisor/production manager to conduct root cause analysis and develop and implement continuous improvement solutions;
  • Ensure product quality and submit work orders for equipment maintenance needs;
  • Provide troubleshooting support and corrective action guidance to operators, partnering with mechanics when appropriate;
  • Help develop and write SOPs, modifying as appropriate to optimize efficiency and effectiveness;
  • Train operators and technicians on SOPs, serving as lead trainer for new employees;
  • Collaborate with quality, maintenance and logistics to ensure overall effectiveness of operation, serving as a communication liaison among all departments;
  • Serve as backup operator for all positions;
  • Produce daily, weekly and monthly reports as required in a timely fashion.
  • Perform tasks associated with entering and removing barrels from warehouses;
  • Collect samples of barreled whiskey;
  • Perform Dump Floor and Cistern Room operations;
  • Perform general sanitation duties and other tasks as assigned and job conditions required.

Must Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Able to perform physically demanding work, including frequent walking, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching upward/downward, crouching, and ascending/descending stairs/ramps/ ladders; pushing and pulling over 100 lbs; entering tight and restricted areas such as rick warehouses; and working in non-climate controlled conditions, enduring temperature swings, cold, heat, etc.
  • 1-2 years team lead or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • Proficient technology skills;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
