We are looking for a Steam Sterilizer Lead to join our team. This position is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of the Chili Sterilizer and Mill equipment in the Chili department. The Steam Sterilization Lead ensures the line performs to expected production throughput while maintaining product quality and safety that meets customer and company standards. Maintenance mechanic/ electrician in food manufacturing experience highly preferred. Experience running packaging equipment/ robotics is a plus. Manufacturing environment experience and working knowledge of food manufacturing concepts such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), food safety, HACCP, standard operating procedures (SOP’s), LOTO and safe work practices.

What you’ll do:

• Sets up equipment parameters based on packaging formula set by the planning department to meet customer order requirements. Utilizes PLC’s and panel views on the equipment to setup run configuration
• Responsible for trouble shooting, basic maintenance, repair and setup of Steam Sterilizer and Mill equipment to ensure maximum productivity. Ensures quick and efficient startup of both the Steam Sterilizer and Mill to minimize downtime. Oversee and ensure the production line does not stop between shift changes and that the incoming Steam Sterilization Lead has been briefed and assumed responsibility
• Perform inspections of packaging components to provide assurance that products meet defined customer specifications
• Ensures that all milled batches of product are stored in the proper location as designated by the Warehouse Supervisor.  Ensures that all batches are scanned into the inventory system
• Follows the schedule according to the sequence or priority set by the Production Scheduler. Does not deviate from schedule unless approved by Shift Supervisor

What you’ll bring:

• Interest in being a part of an effective and productive manufacturing process
• Ability to read, write with desire to continually learn and improve
• Knowledge of Industrial Safety and Hygiene guideline with previous experience in plant production sites with added plus of exposure to food industry
• At least 3 years of previous Operator experience with leadership responsibilities, in a food manufacturing environment 
• Working knowledge of PLC and panel view operations, limit switches, relays, proximity sensors, photo sensing devices, electronic device calibrations, voltage meters, preventative maintenance work

The hourly rate for this position is $27.38 per hour USD. Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.  In addition to salary, Sensient is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits program to support the holistic well-being of our employees and their families.
