Position Overview:

At Eclipse Marine Seneca, we are committed to delivering an exceptional boating experience to our customers. Our network of dealerships offers a wide range high-quality boats, outstanding customer service, and expert parts and service departments, all fueled by our passion for the boating lifestyle.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Service Department as a Lead Marine Technician. In this dynamic role, you will perform and oversee diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on various boats and marine engines, ensuring customers receive top-tier service. Your hands-on expertise and leadership will be essential in delivering high-quality workmanship, supporting technician efficiency, and promoting a productive shop environment.

If you take pride in solving complex problems, enjoy hands-on work, and are ready to step into a leadership role within the marine service field, this is an exciting opportunity to advance your career.

At Brunswick, we have passion for our work and a distinct ability to deliver.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform installs, repairs, and maintenance on boats, including outboard, sterndrive, and inboard engines, as well as other vessel components.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using technical expertise.
  • Assist technicians in maintaining and enhancing productivity and efficiency by providing guidance, answering questions, and supporting problem-solving in real time.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and service administration to address installation or repair challenges, establish workflows, and estimate timeframes.
  • Review repair orders and vessel specifications to determine the scope of work and recommend necessary repairs or modifications.
  • Conduct safety inspections and utilize service histories to inform customers of required or recommended maintenance.
  • Perform light refurbishment work on boats, applicable to select dealership locations only.
  • Track time and labor for each repair order, ensuring adherence to efficiency goals and minimizing non-billable tasks.
  • Promote, prioritize, and emphasize the completion of collectable/billable labor repair orders to maximize shop profitability.
  • Conduct final inspections on all completed repair work, with particular attention to reviewing and verifying the work performed by Junior Technicians, to ensure accuracy, quality, and completeness before returning vessels to customers.
  • Ensure boats are tidied up after service work, including wiping handprints and other marks, before returning them to the customer.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
  • Occasionally step in to support other roles, including moving boats in the absence of a Lot Crew and assisting with service administration or parts-related tasks when necessary.
  • Participate in company-required training sessions, meetings, and communications via email and Microsoft Teams.
  • Assist with occasional onsite and offsite promotional events and boat shows, including setup and breakdown as needed.
  • Any additional duties assigned for success.

  • Must provide personal basic-use mechanical tools and toolbox.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Understanding of service department workflows and labor efficiency metrics.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple repair orders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Ability to read and write professional summaries of completed work.
  • Commitment to safety standards.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Solid work ethic.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets company standards, along with a clear background check and drug screening.
