Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Industrial Maintenance Technician to serve as the hands-on technical leader of our maintenance team. This is a working lead role — you’ll spend the majority of your time with tools in hand while also coordinating daily maintenance activities, mentoring technicians, and driving preventive maintenance program excellence. You’ll be the go-to person for complex troubleshooting and the primary point of accountability for equipment uptime and maintenance execution.

Leadership & Coordination Responsibilities

  • Prioritize, assign, and coordinate daily maintenance work orders based on production needs and equipment criticality
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex mechanical, electrical, and controls troubleshooting
  • Mentor and develop maintenance technicians through hands-on training, knowledge sharing, and skills assessment
  • Own the preventive maintenance schedule — ensure PMs are completed on time, documented accurately, and continuously improved
  • Communicate equipment status, recurring issues, and maintenance priorities to plant leadership
  • Assist with spare parts inventory management and identify critical spares to maintain on hand

Technical Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs on industrial machinery and equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and controls systems to identify root causes and implement lasting solutions
  • Maintain and repair conveyor systems, natural gas burners, screen printing presses, and pallet wrapping machines
  • Service and troubleshoot motors, gear boxes, servo motors, and vision systems (Keyence)
  • Support industrial robot (Fanuc) operation, programming, and troubleshooting
  • Lead root cause analysis efforts on recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions
  • Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize unplanned downtime
  • Document all maintenance activities thoroughly and maintain accurate records of repairs and equipment history
  • Adhere to and enforce all safety protocols; maintain a clean, organized work environment

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as an industrial maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and electrical diagrams
  • Experience with single and three phase power systems (120/208/240/480 VAC and 24 VDC)
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics capability including control voltages
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and record-keeping

Preferred

  • Demonstrated experience leading, coordinating and mentoring other maintenance personnel
  • Technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance, electrical, or a related field
  • PLC troubleshooting and basic programming experience
  • Industrial robot programming experience (Fanuc preferred)
  • Motor replacement, repair, and alignment experience
  • Conveyor chain replacement and tensioning experience
  • Food and beverage or glass manufacturing environment experience
  • Gas burner maintenance
  • Fabrication experience with welding certification (MIG, Stick, and/or TIG)
  • Forklift/Boom lift certification
