Job Summary

Performs the material handling requirements of the plant, generally via operation of a fork truck. Loads and unloads materials to designated plants/areas as necessary.

Critical Functions

  1. Critical functions absorbed by other associates in the same or similar position(s) within the department.

Position Responsibilities

  1. Moves materials into and out of Finish, Machining, and/or Die Casting cells.
  2. Loads and unloads delivery trucks with dunnage for customer or Ryobi use.
  3. Unloads delivery trucks with supplier components and products.
  4. Checks accuracy of container tags and availability of parts for shipment.
  5. Organizes and maintains clean staging areas in the areas being used.
  6. Works with internal departments to keep them informed of needed products and/or shipments.
  7. Performs daily PM checklist on equipment.
  8. Perform 5S in relation to storage/placement of product, pallets/plywood, dunnage, and any other packaging material.
  9. Completes drop casting reports as needed.
  10. Contacts Finish Department when parts are needed.
  11. Assist in taking inventory counts.
  12. Communicates with other employees about priorities.
  13. Performs coupon checks regularly.
  14. Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Maintain a license as a certified fork truck operator.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to thoroughly check for accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills / willingness to learn how to use a computer.
  • Ability to work in a fast-pace environment.
