This is a Direct Hire position

NW Industrial Staffing in recruiting an experienced Lead Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a wood products company in Roseburg, OR to work alongside maintenance crew to schedule and perform maintenance and repair activities on various pieces of heavy equipment such as forklifts, pickups, loaders and shovels, welders, pressure washers, dump trucks, manlifts, etc.

What we are seeking:

• 10 years of experience as a full-duty heavy equipment mechanic with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and gearbox repairs.
• Extensive experience diagnosing, repairing and maintaining systems for diesel, gasoline, propane and electrical equipment/vehicles.
• Ability to fabricate, modify, and install replacement parts on equipment using hand tools, welders, torch sets, plasma cutter, & metal cutting saws
• Great troubleshooting skills to quickly assess needed repairs to production-critical machinery like shovels and log loaders.
• Experience in rebuilding hydraulic cylinders, replacing hydraulic and pneumatic lines, and maintaining those systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and keep accurate documentation on equipment, including fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, clutches, changing oil & filters, and lubricating vehicles.
• Order and keep inventory of parts and supplies needed to perform repair and maintenance tasks.
• Communicates with vendors and dealerships in coordinating repairs beyond the scope of the mechanical team.
• Practice a safety-first attitude, including communicating unsafe conditions, reporting accidents and injuries, and attending monthly safety meetings.
• Assist in training staff in mechanical repair techniques and certify competencies, including specialized training in lockout procedures
• Great communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must have your own tools.
• Previous experience operating heavy equipment

• Schedule: Monday -Friday
• Hours: 5am-3:30pm
• Pay: $39.03/h
