**SUMMARY:

**

The Lead Field Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and managing the on-site installation and commissioning of Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTOs) and related systems. This hands-on role requires extensive experience in industrial manufacturing, welding/fabrication, and low-voltage control panels. The ideal candidate is a confident project leader with the technical know-how to guide field teams, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and maintain strong customer relationships — all while ensuring safety, quality, and timeline adherence.

A Field Superintendent in industrial manufacturing, especially in a niche like thermal oxidizer systems, needs a combination of technical, leadership, and project management skills. These systems involve combustion, emissions control, and often large-scale mechanical and electrical integration—so the role is demanding and critical to project success.

**Note:

** Candidates will be required to complete a 6–12-month hands-on training period in our production shop before assuming full responsibilities of the position.

**KEY DELIVERABLES (ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES):

**

  • **Project Leadership On-Site

    **- Construction Scheduling & Planning

    1. Manage crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
    
    2. Track milestones and coordinate with project managers and engineering.
    
    • Quality Control / QA-QC Oversight

      1. Ensure installations meet design specs and code compliance.

      2. Conduct inspections, punch lists, and documentation.

    • Problem-Solving & On-Site Adaptability

      1. Ability to troubleshoot field issues quickly, often with limited resources or under time pressure.
    • Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination

      1. Coordinate rigging, crane operations, fireproof / high-heat materials contractors.

      2. Know who to call to get answers if unknown.

  • **Technical Oversight

    **- Mechanical and Electrical Systems Knowledge

    1. Familiarity with industrial piping, ductwork, structural steel, and electrical control systems.
    
    2. Understanding of combustion systems, burners, fans, heat exchangers, and refractory materials.
    
    • Blueprint and Technical Drawing Interpretation

      1. Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, layout drawings, and wiring diagrams.
    • Welding & Fabrication Oversight

      1. Knowledge of welding procedures and codes (ASME, AWS) is essential, especially for high-temperature and pressure applications.
    • HVAC and Process Engineering Basics

      1. General understanding of airflow, pressure drops, heat transfer, and emission control (e.g., VOC destruction).
    • OSHA & Site Safety Compliance

      1. Strong grasp of safety standards (OSHA 30 or equivalent is often required), including hot work, confined spaces, fall protection, and LOTO.
  • **Customer & Stakeholder Communication

    **- Act as the primary on-site point of contact for customers and third-party stakeholders.

    • Provide regular updates to project managers and customers on project status.

    • Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

    • Time Management

      1. Coordinator multiple moving parts while staying on schedule and within budget.
    • Client-Facing Professionalism

      1. Effectively and successfully represents the company during site visits, meetings and commissioning.
    • Communication and Team Leadership

      1. Lead field crews, communicate clearly with office teams and clients.

      2. Provide direction under pressure and resolve conflicts onsite with diplomacy and tact.

  • **Safety & Compliance

    **- Enforce company safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and site-specific regulations.

    • Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety audits.

    • Ensure all field documentation (JHAs, inspection reports, etc.) is properly completed and submitted

  • **Documentation & Reporting.

    **- Maintain daily site reports, progress photos, and as-built documentation.

    • Communicate material needs, equipment issues, and personnel requirements to management.

    • Has experience using tablets or laptops for digital reporting and document control.

  • **Travel:

    ** Must be willing and able to travel 60–90% of the time, including extended stays on job sites as required.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

**

**Required:

**

  • 5+ years of field experience in industrial manufacturing, construction, or environmental systems

  • Direct experience building and installing Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTOs) or similar equipment

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Proven ability to lead field crews and coordinate multi-trade subcontractors

  • Willing and able to travel extensively (60–90%), often for extended periods

**Preferred:

**

  • Experience in RTO systems or industrial air pollution control equipment.

  • Proficient in welding (MIG/TIG/Stick) and metal fabrication techniques

  • Working knowledge of low-voltage electrical panels and control systems (24VDC, 120VAC, PLC interfaces)

  • Formal training or certifications in welding, electrical, or mechanical trades.

  • OSHA 30 or other safety certifications.

  • Familiarity with project management software/tools.

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

**

Some of the typical physical demands used in performing tasks associated with this position include but are not limited to:

  • Frequent exposure to dust, noise, and smells,

  • Employees must be in good general health with good mental focus, agility, balance, and vision (including close vision work, depth perception, and peripheral vision)

  • Pulling, pushing, reaching, climbing, kneeling, crawling, significant finger, hand manipulation, and standing for extended amounts of time.

  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25-75 pounds, frequently lift and/or move items weighing 25-75 pounds with either teammate or mechanical assistance.

  • Position will involve exposure to heavy steel fabrication, welding, painting, and assembly environment.

  • May have exposure to all weather and temperature variations.
