Description
We are now looking for a technically skilled and hands-on Lead Engineer to join our Technical Service & Development (TS&D) team — a key function within R&D — to help customers succeed, support new product launches, and elevate our converting and field validation capabilities.
The Opportunity
This is a high-impact, customer-facing engineering role ideal for an individual with strong technical skills in materials, converting processes, or packaging, who thrives in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment.
You will lead customer validation trials, contribute to solving field performance issues, provide hands-on converting support both in the lab and at customer sites and assume a key role in developing the TS&D Application Development Lab. This role also partners with R&D, Sales, Operations, and Quality to ensure that our products perform as intended — from the factory floor to the customer’s packaging line.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Field Trials
- Lead validation trials at customer sites to enable product implementation
- Provide technical troubleshooting and support for converting and packaging performance
- Translate field findings into actionable insights and recommendations
Converting & Lab Support
- Contribute to in-house converting evaluations and application testing
- Support the development of the TS&D Application Development Lab
- Assist in test protocol design and hands-on experimentation
- Document and communicate results clearly to stakeholders
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with R&D, Product Supply, Sales, and Quality teams to resolve product issues and support new product introductions
- Serve as a technical liaison between internal teams and customers
- Help generate product documentation (e.g., test data, validation reports)
Data & Process Improvement
- Support data interpretation using statistical tools (e.g., Excel, JMP, Minitab)
- Identify opportunities for process improvement through structured problem solving
- Assist in building internal knowledge related to film converting and application behavior
Who We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Process, or related)
- 3–6 years’ experience in technical service, converting, packaging, or process engineering
- Experience with film materials, web handling, sealing, or thermoforming is a strong plus
Technical Skills
- Solid troubleshooting ability and hands-on mechanical mindset
- Familiarity with lab-scale testing, pilot equipment, or converting lines
- Strong analytical thinking and basic statistical literacy
- Able to write clear technical documentation and communicate findings to varied audiences
Soft Skills
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and customer-focused
- Comfortable working both independently and within a cross-functional team
- Excellent communicator across technical and non-technical stakeholders

- The compensation range that is described below is the possible base pay compensation that the company believes in good faith that it will pay for this role at the time of posting based on job grade for the position. Individual compensation within this range is based on many factors such as years of experience etc. so the company might pay more or less than the posted range and it is understood that this range may be modified in the future.

Compensation range - $99,271.91 - $163,108.91
Incentive Compensation Bonus Target – 15%
Paid time off amount – 15 days
