Lead Engineer, Data Centers

What this job involves -

The Lead Engineer - Critical Environments supervises and directs operating engineers in installation, repair, and maintenance of all base building and critical system machinery and equipment. Responsible for supervising the operating team on their shift.

Your day-to-day tasks will include -

  • Supervise maintenance staff, delegate tasks, and monitor performance

  • Manage service requests efficiently with minimal disruption

  • Direct contracted maintenance work and oversee warranty fulfillment

  • Implement and schedule preventative maintenance program

  • Order parts/equipment and maintain inventory

  • Maintain, monitor, and perform preventive maintenance on all critical systems: fire/life safety, HVAC, plumbing, electrical (lighting, UPS, PDU, generators, switchgear), emergency backup, boilers, refrigeration, and water systems

  • Record readings, analyze operations, diagnose problems, and take corrective action

  • Additional duties as requested

Desired experience and technical skills -

Requirements:

  • High School diploma/GED + 5+ years experience (including supervisory)

  • Operating Engineers license (SMA) and Universal CFC Technician Certification

  • Hands-on data center experience with UPS systems, generators, and switchgear

  • Strong communication skills and Microsoft Office proficiency

  • Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders to 30 ft, and work at heights

  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, holidays, and respond to emergencies

Preferred:

  • Corrigo Experience

  • MCIM / Salesforce Experience

  • Zendesk Experience

  • Service Now Experience

  • Universal EPA 608 certification

  • Trained in NFPA70E
