Job Overview:

Description

Join our team as a Lead Electrical Engineer to architect and execute the design of Videology’s next-generation industrial-grade embedded imaging systems. This is a senior-level, hands-on role that combines system-level architectural ownership with deep involvement in schematic capture and PCB layout.

You’ll architect and develop high-speed, high-reliability electronic systems featuring image signal processors, high-speed digital interfaces, and image sensors. You will also guide contributions from internal and external teams, driving quality and consistency across global design workflows.

Please Note: This is a senior-level position requiring 10+ years of experience in hardware system design and PCB development. Applicants without substantial hands-on design experience will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect embedded hardware platforms that integrate image sensors and processors, DDR memory, Ethernet, MIPI, SPI, I2C, and FPGAs
  • Design and develop schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer, taking ownership of critical board development
  • Define system architecture, PCB stack-ups, interface specifications, and signal/power integrity strategies
  • Ensure compliance with EMI/EMC, DFM/DFT, thermal, and environmental standards for industrial-grade performance
  • Review and guide the work of internal engineers, contractors, and offshore teams to ensure alignment with architectural direction
  • Collaborate with firmware and software teams to define interfaces, bring-up procedures, and debug strategies
  • Conduct hands-on validation using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers
  • Lead hardware design reviews, establish standards and checklists, and support continuous improvement in design processes
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster knowledge sharing across the organization

Requirements

Core Qualifications

  • Experience: 10+ years total, with 5+ years in relevant PCB design
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical/Electronics Engineering
  • Location: Mansfield, MA (on-site position, no remote option)
  • Tools: Altium Designer, Embedded C

Technical Requirements

  • Proven track record designing and delivering high-speed digital      boards (Ethernet, DDR, MIPI, SPI, FPGA)
  • Expertise in signal integrity, power distribution, stack-up      optimization, and thermal design
  • Expertise in EMI/EMC compliance and familiarity with FCC/CE and      IPC standards
  • Ability to architect systems, then personally implement and      validate key parts of the design
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment for hardware validation      and debug
  • Comfortable writing and maintaining technical documentation,      interface specs, and design rules

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with camera electronics and image sensor integration
  • Exposure to wireless or RF design
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle support and sustaining engineering practices
