Job Overview:

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced CNC Operator for a 2nd-shift opportunity near Albany, NY. This role is hands-on, requires some programming, and will serve as the lead operator for a small team. Candidates must be reliable, able to support and guide teammates, and maintain a team focused attitude.

Job Type:

Full-time, CNC Operator (Lead-Level)

Pay:

Based on experience — $25-30+

Tasks:

• Set up and operate CNC machines including milling, drilling, broaching, and reaming of metal and plastic parts
• Select, measure, assemble, and set up tools such as drill bits, milling tools, and cutting tools using precision gauges
• Perform material insertion, clamping, fitting, and basic hand-tool operations
• Cut pipe or materials to specified dimensions when required
• Read and interpret job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
• Perform bench-type mechanical or electrical sub-assembly tasks
• Apply labels and tags to finished products; pack and palletize finished goods
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance, report mechanical or material issues promptly
• Follow standard work practices and safety guidelines
• Serve as lead for a team of 4–5 operators — answer questions, provide support, and uphold production standards
• Hold keys for the facility and uphold leadership responsibilities

Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred
• 3–5 years CNC experience required
• Experience with CNC lathes, spindles, and chucks preferred
• AutoCAD certification a plus
• Strong reliability — no calling out and must schedule time off well in advance
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on feet for extended periods

Schedule: Second shift, 3-11PM Monday through Friday
