This position is based in Plano, TX with a hybrid mix of some in-office time and some remote work.

Who We’re Looking For
The Toyota Financial Services (TFS) Cloud Engineering team is looking for a highly skilled Lead Cloud Platform Engineer specializing in Governance. In this critical senior engineering role, you will serve as the primary authority on cloud governance. You will be responsible for maintaining Toyota's cloud standards and overseeing daily governance activities within the cloud engineering team. We are seeking someone with deep cloud expertise, a leadership mindset, and a strong commitment to enhancing developer productivity.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Architect & Lead Cloud Governance: Design and implement governance frameworks that ensure compliance, security, and best practices across cloud systems.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Lead IaC initiatives using Terraform and AWS CDK, establishing standards for automation, security, and resilience.
- Mentorship & Development: Mentor engineers on cloud governance, security practices, and platform strategy, promoting a culture of technical excellence.
- CI/CD Pipeline Automation: Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines to facilitate seamless integration and deployment while ensuring compliance with governance standards.
- Security, Compliance & FinOps: Enforce security standards across cloud environments, focusing on governance, disaster recovery (DR), high availability (HA), and cost optimization through FinOps (tagging, cost visibility, and resource optimization).
- Observability & Monitoring: Implement metrics-based operational strategies and advanced observability tools for proactive monitoring and incident response.
- Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues, implementing resource optimization strategies while adhering to governance requirements.
What You Bring
- Experience: 7+ years in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps, with a strong record of technical leadership in governance-focused roles.
- Cloud & IaC Expertise: Proficiency in AWS (e.g., EKS, DynamoDB, Aurora) and extensive knowledge of IaC and CI/CD tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or AWS CDK.
- FinOps Expertise: Strong understanding of FinOps practices, including cost visibility, tagging strategies, and optimizing cloud spend through effective resource management.
- Technical Leadership: Proven ability to mentor engineers, lead governance initiatives, and manage complex cloud projects impacting multiple teams.
- Security Awareness: Deep understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance standards, with a history of implementing secure cloud infrastructures.
- Collaboration Skills: Excellent communicator with a track record of driving cross-functional projects and aligning governance strategies with organizational objectives.
- Data Analysis & Metrics: Experience with observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus) and data-driven decision-making to enhance governance practices.
