Job Overview:

Position SummaryEssential Duties and Responsibilities- Review work orders, production schedules, drawings, and assembly instructions.

  • Gather and prepare window and door components for the lay-up and bonding process.

  • Clean and prepare surfaces before applying adhesives, sealants, or bonding materials.

  • Measure, mix, and apply approved adhesives according to manufacturer and production specifications.

  • Position and align components accurately before bonding or assembly.

  • Use clamps, presses, rollers, fixtures, and hand tools to secure materials during the curing process.

  • Remove excess adhesive or sealant and maintain a clean finished appearance.

  • Verify dimensions, alignment, fit, and overall workmanship throughout the assembly process.

  • Inspect completed parts for gaps, weak bonds, misalignment, surface damage, or other defects.

  • Identify and report damaged, incorrect, or defective materials to the supervisor.

  • Follow established curing times, material-handling procedures, and production requirements.

  • Label, stage, and move completed assemblies to the next production area.

  • Accurately complete production records, work orders, and quality documentation.

  • Meet daily production and quality expectations without compromising safety.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.

  • Follow all company safety procedures, including requirements for handling adhesives, solvents, and other manufacturing materials.

  • Wear all required personal protective equipment.

  • Perform additional production or assembly duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications- Previous manufacturing, assembly, construction, cabinetmaking, woodworking, glass, window, or door production experience is preferred.

  • Experience applying adhesives, sealants, caulking, or bonding materials is preferred.

  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic measurements accurately.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.

  • Strong attention to detail and quality.

  • Ability to recognize damaged materials and assembly defects.

  • Ability to use basic hand tools, clamps, rollers, presses, and production equipment safely.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.

  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.

  • Willingness to work overtime or alternate shifts when required.

Knowledge and Skills- Basic knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.

  • Understanding of proper adhesive application and surface preparation.

  • Familiarity with window and door components is helpful.

  • Ability to distinguish between different materials, parts, and production specifications.

  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

  • Ability to maintain accuracy while performing repetitive tasks.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements- Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift.

  • Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to bend, reach, twist, kneel, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements.

  • Ability to handle large or awkward window and door components with assistance.

  • Ability to work around adhesives, sealants, manufacturing equipment, dust, and normal production noise.

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including gloves, safety glasses, and respiratory protection when applicable.
