Job Overview:

*Filger Manufacturing has been a leader in producing Aerospace, Medical and Space components for over 70 years. We are looking to hire an experienced CNC Machinist to set-up (using Fanuc controls) and produce critical/tight tolerance parts on either our CNC Kia lathe turning center or Hardinge lathe turning centers. Candidate needs to have experience setting up and running single operation lathes. Must be efficient and autonomous at set ups and operation of close tolerance +/- .0002 aerospace parts. Parts will be run complete from first article to end of production run. Job start time is 6:00am and workday is 8+ hours per day with proper meal and rest periods. Opportunity for overtime depending on workload. Our current workload is stacked.

*Responsibilities/daily tasks

*

*Duties Include:

*

  • *Daily production of metal machined components

*

  • *Select tools and materials for the job

*

  • *Operate CNC Lathes (Kia and Hardinge)

*

  • *Verifying 1st Article piece with Foreman

*

  • *Set up CNC Lathes (Kia and Hardinge) using Fanuc controls

*

  • *Troubleshoot machinery

*

  • *Making program changes as needed

*

  • *Review blueprints for specifications of job

*

  • *Measure parts using micrometers, calipers, CMM and other measuring equipment

*

  • *Perform offsets

*

  • *Inspect parts for accuracy

*

  • *Meet production goals

*

  • *Maintain machines and overall shop cleanliness

*

  • *Completing any other duties assigned by Management

*Qualifications:

*

*Applicant must complete and pass a basic background check prior to employment. Employer will also request references to call and confirm prior employment job title, duties, and length of employment. Applicant must possess the ability to lift 50+lbs. and have the ability to stand at a machine for 10+ hours per day. Applicant must be able to work in a noisy environment. Must be have 5+ years experience setting up and running CNC machines. Must be efficient and autonomous at set ups and operation of close tolerance +/- .0002 aerospace parts. Must be able to set up a machine quickly and accurately and identify changes that need to be made. Must be able to measure using micrometers , calipers and inspect using an eye loupe. Ability to stay focused and produce high-tolerance, demanding machined components with little to no errors. Must be able to follow work instructions and feel comfortable ask questions if something is unclear. Must be able to work well with others and independently. This is a 40+ hour per week position. Position pays hourly and hourly rate depends on experience. Company offers 401k, profit sharing, and end of the year bonus.
