LATHE MACHINIST

Job Location: Brea, CA

Job Summary:

The Lathe Machinist is a part of the manufacturing team to ensure the production of first-time, quality parts on time on the lathe machines, following prescribed standard guidelines and policies and procedures. The Lathe Machinist will be able to forecast the labor hours involved in producing a part and plan the production and the production sequence for a part for completion. S/he will write the program and determine the necessary tooling to produce parts and set-up the appropriate lathe machines and produce the blueprinted part or transfer responsibility of part production to other lathe operators as directed. S/he must be able to complete work thoroughly and accurately promptly meeting productivity standard. This role requires you to bring your own basic shop tools.

Requirements for Success: (list 4 – 5 primary requirements)

  • Understanding of blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and calibration concepts/techniques 
  • Basic computer and standard operating systems knowledge
  • History of working with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, etc)
  • High School Diploma
  • 4-5 years of prior experience working on lathe machines
  • Lathe machine programming and operation (HAAS Lathes preferred)
  • Setup experience required
