Shift: Typically 7 am - 3 pm/8 am - 4 pm
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for conducting comprehensive testing of laser products, including performance, safety, and reliability assessments.
Accountable for analyzing and maintaining detailed documentation of testing processes, results, and corrective actions taken.
Successfully troubleshoot and identify issues with laser systems during testing, providing suggestions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Effectively collaborate with engineering and production teams to address quality issues and support product development initiatives.
Responsible for ensuring all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained in accordance with industry standards.
Responsible for participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing processes and product quality.
Responsible for supporting the training activities of junior technicians.
Effectively participate in root cause analysis and quality improvement projects.
Education & Experience
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Associate or technical degree in engineering, electronics, optics, or a related field required.
Quality related certifications preferred. (e.g., ISO, ASQ)
At least two (2) years of experience in laser testing or a related quality assurance role.
At least two (2) years of work experience in QAM or a related optical/mechanical test environment with a heavy emphasis on mechanical testing, precision measurement, calibration, and data analysis preferred.
Skills
Must have a good understanding of quality principles and quality assurance processes.
Must be proficient in the use of measurement tools and equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) for mechanical setup and spatial relation.
Must have strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving skills.
Must have good manual dexterity and ability to work with small, delicate components.
Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Must be able to read and interpret customer supplied optical drawings in accordance with military specifications and ANSI standards.
Experience using ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle required.

Working Conditions
Cleanroom environment with inspection stations.
Constant mental and visual alertness needed.
Regular exposure to noise, chemicals and solvents.
Exposure to high intensity light while inspecting certain product lines.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to see clearly at close distances (e.g., reading gauges, using fine measurement tools).
Ability to see clearly at a distance, especially when observing larger equipment or layout plans.
Must have capability to judge distances accurately, which is crucial for measuring and calibrating equipment.
Must have the ability to perceive objects outside of direct line of sight. (peripheral vision)
Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50lbs.
The use of both hands while transporting materials is required.
Ability to use computer equipment is required.
