Job Overview:
**Responsibilities:

- Program and optimize CNC laser cutting machines using industry-standard nesting and programming software to support efficient production operations.
- Develop material-efficient nesting layouts to maximize sheet utilization and reduce scrap.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, CAD files, specifications, and work orders to ensure accurate and precise part manufacturing.
- Partner with engineering, production, and shop floor teams to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency.
- Modify machine programs based on equipment capabilities, material specifications, thickness, and production requirements.
- Maintain organized programming records, documentation, and file management systems to support repeat manufacturing jobs.
- Troubleshoot programming, cutting, or machine-related issues and implement corrective actions to maintain productivity and quality standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on process efficiency, product quality, waste reduction, and throughput enhancement.
**Qualifications:
**
- Minimum of 2 years of experience programming CNC laser cutting equipment within a sheet metal manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with nesting and programming software such as BySoft, SigmaNEST, TruTops, or comparable systems.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
- Solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, materials, and production methods.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems is considered an advantage.
- Experience in a job shop or high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with secondary fabrication processes, including bending, welding, and finishing operations.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process improvement methodologies.
