Job Overview:

Lamination Production Lead / Machine Lead – We Will Train

T.C. Millwork Inc. – Bensalem, PA

Full-Time | Manufacturing | Leadership Opportunity

T.C. Millwork is looking for a dependable, motivated, and mechanically inclined individual to join our Lamination Department and develop into a key leadership position within the department.

Previous lamination or PUR experience is NOT required. We will train the right person.

We operate three PUR lamination lines that apply laminate and PVC film to materials including MDF, plywood, and particleboard. This is a specialized manufacturing process, so we are more interested in finding someone with the right work ethic, ability to learn, attention to detail, and leadership potential than someone who already has experience with this exact equipment.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

  • Shows up to work every day and on time
  • Takes pride in being dependable and responsible
  • Learns new equipment and processes quickly
  • Can understand and follow a production schedule
  • Thinks ahead instead of waiting to be told every next step
  • Is organized and pays attention to details
  • Is comfortable directing and communicating with other employees
  • Can recognize problems and take action before they cause downtime
  • Has the ability and desire to grow into a leadership role
  • Is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

What You Will Be Trained To Do

You will be assigned responsibility for one of our PUR lamination lines and trained to understand the complete operation from material preparation through finished production.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Learn the complete setup and operation of a PUR lamination line
  • Review the daily production schedule and understand what jobs are coming next
  • Stay at least one job ahead of the machine whenever possible
  • Coordinate with our full-time forklift driver to have the correct MDF, plywood, particleboard, laminate, PVC film, and other materials pulled and staged before they are needed
  • Prevent unnecessary machine downtime caused by waiting for material
  • Verify that the correct materials are staged for each job
  • Make sure machine setups and materials are correct before production begins
  • Monitor production and identify potential problems before they stop the line
  • Communicate with the Lamination Manager regarding production status, material needs, quality concerns, and schedule changes
  • Help keep the department organized and running efficiently
  • Learn how to prioritize work based on the production schedule
  • Assist and direct other employees working around your assigned production line
  • Fill in for the Lamination Manager when the manager is absent

This Is More Than a Machine Operator Position

We are specifically looking for someone who wants more responsibility.

The person who succeeds in this position will become the #2 person in our Lamination Department and will be expected to understand not only how to run the equipment, but also how to keep production moving.

We do not want someone who simply waits until one job is finished before thinking about the next job.

A successful person in this role will be looking ahead and asking:

What are we running next?

Do we have the material?

Has the material been pulled?

Is everything staged correctly?

Are we ready to change over without stopping the machine?

Our goal is to have the next job ready before the current job is complete.

Experience That May Be a Good Fit

You do not need PUR lamination experience.

People with experience in any of the following areas may be a good fit:

  • Manufacturing
  • Machine operation
  • CNC machinery
  • Woodworking
  • Cabinet manufacturing
  • Millwork
  • Production lead or team lead positions
  • Printing or converting equipment
  • Packaging machinery
  • Automated production equipment
  • Warehouse or material handling operations
  • Maintenance or mechanically oriented positions

More important than your previous job title is your ability to learn, think ahead, stay organized, communicate, and be dependable.

What Success Looks Like

Within this position, we want you to eventually be able to look at the production schedule, understand what your machine needs to accomplish that day, coordinate material movement, keep the next jobs staged and ready, and keep the production line operating with as little unnecessary downtime as possible.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to learn a specialized manufacturing process and develop into an important leadership position within our operation.

If you are dependable, mechanically inclined, like learning how equipment works, and want an opportunity to take on responsibility and grow into a leadership role, we want to talk to you.

Apply today to learn more about the position and our Lamination Department at T.C. Millwork.
