Full Time

Pay: Starting at $22.00 per hour. Candidates may be eligible for higher base pay depending on experience and skill set. Candidates with their CDLs are preferred. 

Rogers Group is currently seeking an individual to fill the Paving Crew Laborer position on our Western Kentucky Construction crew. This crew is based out of Hopkinsville, KY and services the surrounding area. This position is responsible for prepping sites, finishing asphalt, and working on various construction projects that may require extended hours including some nights/weekends. 

The successful candidate for this position will be competent and skilled at completing various general and manual labor tasks around the jobsite – both in grading work and/or in asphalt. They will also have familiarity and experience working around various pieces of heavy equipment. The successful candidate will also have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

  • Complete various manual labor tasks around the job site.
  • Provide directions to and take tickets from trucks and suppliers on the job site.
  • Operate some heavy equipment – such as a skid steer or backhoe – as needed.
  • Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies. Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.
  • Effective communication skills applicable to position.
  • Operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency.
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.

INTERNAL QUALIFICATION: 

  • Dedication to safe work practices.
  • 1-2 years experience in construction work is preferred.
  • Ability to reliably report to work daily, and on-time/early.
  • Ability to perform general laborer and clean-up duties as needed/directed.
  • A willingness to learn and train on new pieces of grading and asphalt equipment.
  • May be called upon at the discretion of management to perform any other duties assigned and/or assist other areas as necessary.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours as necessary.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record and Valid Driver’s License required.
