Summary
Simplot Silica Sands is accepting applications for a Laborer for the safe operation in a mining environment. General Laborers work in various areas and perform a variety of jobs and tasks required to maintain smooth operation and to assist when specific needs arise
Key Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Ability to work safely throughout the plant and mine site
- General plant clean-up including shoveling, sweeping, and washing
- Operating heavy equipment including haul trucks, cat loaders, forklifts, skid steer
- Equipment maintenance
- Working around rotating machinery
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to work rotating shifts (days, afternoons, & nights)Ability to work required overtime
Typical Education
GED or High School Equivalent
Relevant Experience
6 months experience in a laborer position
Other Information
- Must have an acceptable safety record.
- Must have an acceptable attendance record.
- Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
Shift Schedule:
- Morning: 4:00 AM - 12:30 PM
- Afternoon: 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM
- Night: 8:00 PM - 4:30 AM
Wages:
- $16.80/hr starting out
- $19.78+ after 90 days.
- $21.96+ after 12 months
