Work as a laboratory technician with emphasis on chemical and material lab expertise. Use technical knowledge to facilitate iterative product development and conduct experiments and testing to rapidly validate design changes. Operate and maintain state of the art laboratory equipment.
- Responsible for supporting project managers and engineers for sample preparation, testing and laboratory maintenance.
- Receiving, labeling, and safely storing samples to be tested
- Performing tests needed for the product performance analysis and report the results
- Discussing and answering any questions regarding the results
- Organizing and storing samples in accordance with all safety and other requirements to ensure the safety of personnel and integrity of the sample
- Maintaining lab equipment, including calibration of equipment
- Maintaining equipment records, daily work logs and organizational skills
- Good communication and teamwork skills and able to follow instructions/procedures
- Ability to write failure analysis reports, project reports, and equipment operating procedure documentation.

- Under direct supervision, performs assigned duties within the current HSE laboratory safety standards.
- Performs wet chemistry (dilutions, mixing, etc.) and literature review
- Operates laboratory equipment such as Microscopy, analytical instruments or other mechanical lab testing equipment, as required to execute assigned tasks.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Candidate must be able to think creatively and demonstrate curiosity in R&D project tasks
- Maintains files and documentation related to test equipment and test results of equipment.
Qualifications/Experience
- Analytical laboratory, chemistry experience, microscopy experience, any operating experience
- Skills typically through eight (8) hours of college chemistry or physical science and 2 years of related laboratory testing experience
- Technicians need to understand and know how to use the equipment necessary for the testing and analysis of samples
- Hands-on laboratory experience in lab testing and basic math skills to perform specific lab procedures for mixing chemicals
- Familiarity with MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and basic statistical analysis is preferred
- Strong communication skills to report updates on testing and analytical equipment issues, test results, and troubleshooting procedures.
