Job Overview:

General Summary

Conducts laboratory testing designed to ensure adherence to established quality system requirements, FDA. MDD, other applicable regulatory/statutory or ISO requirements for new and existing products and materials.

 Key Responsibilities

•    Receives, catalogs, incoming samples.

•    Set up laboratory equipment required for testing.

•    Conducts analytical testing of component materials and finished products.

•    Test returned consumer samples to resolve customer complaints.

•    Document results of tests in accordance with good laboratory practices (GLP).

•    Prepares technical reports.

•    Maintain and calibrate test equipment used in the laboratory.

•    Assists with troubleshooting chronic issues related to product performance.

•    Assists with inspection processes in Receiving, Packaging and Converting areas, when needed.

•    Other duties as assigned

Education

Possess a High School / Trade School certification in the field of chemistry, biology or other science field.  A minimum 2 years of experience working in a laboratory setting required.

Skills & Abilities

Must be able to read, write, and speak English.  Must have 2+ years of medical device manufacturing experience.  Must be detail orientated, bilingual Spanish/English is a plus, but not necessary, and enjoy working with a diverse employee base.   Must have experience using Microsoft Excel and Word software.  Must be able to perform mathematical functions.  Flexibility in work hours required.  Must be capable of standing for a full shift (8 to 12 hours), able to lift, push, pull 50+ pounds, walk, stoop, kneel, bend over, and grasp objects with both hands on a frequent basis. Visual acuity or corrective vision required for this position including close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
