**This is not a “sit in the lab and watch numbers” job.
**This is the role that tells production whether we’re about to make good iron… or scrap.
If you like precision, fast feedback loops, and being the person everyone quietly depends on at 2:00 AM, keep reading.
**What You’ll Do
**
You’ll be the control point between raw process and finished quality—running tests, reading results, and making sure production has the data they need before problems happen.
Process and analyze iron samples (chemistry, thermal analysis, etc.)
Test and evaluate sand properties (moisture, permeability, strength)
Communicate real-time results to Melt, Mold, and Production teams
Flag out-of-spec conditions immediately and clearly
Maintain accurate records (traceability matters here)
Support continuous improvement by identifying trends, not just numbers
**Why This Role Matters
**
Bad data = bad castings.Late data = expensive problems.
You make sure neither happens.
You’re part of the Quality team, but your impact is felt across the entire foundry—from the furnace to the finishing floor.
**What We’re Looking For
**
Strong attention to detail (you catch what others miss)
Ability to stay focused and consistent on overnight shift
Comfortable working around industrial processes (heat, dust, motion)
Clear communicator—especially when something isn’t right
Basic computer/data entry skills
**Bonus Points (not required):
**
Foundry, lab, or manufacturing experience
Familiarity with sand testing or iron chemistry
**What You’ll Get
**
Stable, full-time overnight schedule
Hands-on role with real impact on product quality
Training—we’ll teach the technical side if you bring the mindset
A team that values precision and accountability
**The Reality
**
This job isn’t flashy. It’s disciplined, repeatable, and critical.
But if you take pride in doing things right—and being the reason others can do their jobs right—you’ll fit here.
**StatusQuoSucks®
** — and in this role, “good enough” data isn’t good enough.
