This is a Quality Lab position responsible for conducting chemical and physical laboratory tests which involve qualitative and quantitative analyses of solids, liquids, and gaseous to support manufacturing processes, quality control, maintenance of environmental standards, and other work involving experimental, theoretical, or practical application of chemistry and related sciences.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct basic laboratory test analyses, maintain inventory & prepare lab supplies, maintain (verify, calibrate, maintain) laboratory equipment and instruments
• Perform test method evaluations
• Perform QC tests on raw material, in-process, finished product, and wastewater samples brought to the lab per SOPs and sample testing plans
• Complete associated documentation accurately
• Perform verification, calibration and preventive maintenance in accordance with schedules identified in ISO
• Assist and participate in the EHSQ Management System (e.g., nonconformance, TVP, audits, inventory)
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work in accordance with safety procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work night shifts after initial training on day shifts
• High School Diploma required; college degree preferred
• Minimum of 1 experience in a Quality Lab environment preferred; specifically with analytical chemistry, data interpretation and compilation, handling lab equipment and instrumentation (e.g., GC, HPLC, GC/MS, AA, Rheometer, IR, Auto-titration)
• Basic experience of simple office / operational systems.
• Works with guidance (but not constant supervision) to develop appropriate plans or perform necessary actions based on recommendations and requirements.
• Works under guidance (but not constant supervision) to analyze data trends for use in reports to help guide decision making.
• Works with guidance (but not constant supervision) to plan, organize, prioritize and oversee activities to efficiently meet business objectives.
• Works with guidance (but not constant supervision) to develop, monitor, interpret and understand policies and procedures, while making sure they match organizational strategies and objectives.
