SUMMARY:
This position provides laboratory support for the filling, cleaning, calibration, and packaging of glass capillary viscometers. These tasks must be conducted accurately to maintain continued manufacture of high-quality viscosity measurement products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Fill glass capillary viscometers (GV) with oil standards
- Maintain equipment used for GV filling
- Maintain filling oils in proper containers
- Transfer GV to calibration station
- Cleaning of GV during the calibration process
- Maintain cleaning solvents in proper containers
- Transfer calibrated GV to packaging
- Measurement and preparation of certificates and documentation for calibrated GV
- Packaging of calibrated GV
- Transfer calibrated GV to stock shelves
- Labeling and bottling of viscosity standards
- Assembly of viscosity standard packaging as necessary
- Participate in the maintenance of the calibration lab area
- Maintain an orderly, clean, and uncluttered work station
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer knowledge is necessary
- Familiarity with chemistry lab operations helpful but not required
- Comfort in working with hydrocarbon solvents and oils is necessary
- Good communication skills are a must
