Job Description

Bachelor of Science – Microbiology/Biology/Chemistry preferred

Shall have attended a Chemical Safety Training session with the past 12 months. 

Shall have attended GMP, HACCP, and Allergen testing.

Shall meet all requirements of SQF program.

Shall comply with all GMP requirements

shall comply with all requirements for Personal Protective Equipment as defined by appropriate plant procedures.

Shall comply with all safety rules and policies.  

Prior Lab Experience preferred

The Lab Technician shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Technician will be trained in all laboratory procedures that are utilized in the operation in regards to both food safety and quality.
• The technician shall be trained and qualified to operate the Laboratory equipment including calibration techniques for each piece of equipment utilized in the Food Safety and Quality Program.
• Technician shall be fully trained and qualified in the appropriate methods of testing as per procedure.
• All testing results will be entered in the appropriate log and signed by the technician.
• Technician shall follow all GMP and Safety and work policies.
• Technician to notify immediate supervisor when deviations occur.

The successful applicant must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, follow verbal and written instructions, complete daily reports, as well as work well with numbers.

He or she will be required to climb, crawl, and walk in an upright as well as a bent position.   He or she will be required to work in very hot (100+ degree) and very cool (32 degree) environments.  He or she may be required to move objects weighing as much as 225 pounds.

The successful applicant must be able to keep the lab in clean and sanitary condition and work in a safe and efficient manner. 

He or she must pass a drug screen, as well as a physical.

40+ hours per week
