The Junior Food Scientist supports the development, testing, and optimization of food products. This role assists in research initiatives, conducts experiments, documents findings, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in product development and food innovation.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist on the development of new recipes with our existing items
- Assist in making adjustments to formula for product manufacturing at the pilot plant level or initial
production runs for achievement of all target objectives.
- Support R & D department by identifying any opportunity of product and/or process improvement.
- Record and compile test results, and prepare graphs, charts, and reports.
- Support production test runs
- Support developing processing procedures
- Assist in sensory evaluation and testing of new products under development.
- Evaluates product ingredients and formulation; develops suggestions for new products or improvements to existing products.
- Supervises test runs of new/changed products and evaluates quality, presentation, and taste.
- Assist in cuttings in lab to test new and improved products in comparison with competitor products.
- Assist R & D team with day-to-day tasks
- Organize and clean lab as required.
- Assist with shipping samples or ingredients.
Requirements and Duties:
- ▪ Basic knowledge of food science principles, ingredients, and processing techniques
- ▪ Understanding of food safety regulations and quality systems
- ▪ Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- ▪ Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- ▪ Ability to follow protocols and work in a lab or pilot plant environment
- ▪ Effective communication and teamwork skills
- ▪ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
C. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Food Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field
- 0–2 years of experience in food science, product development, or a related role (internships/co-ops acceptable)
