The Junior Farm Manager reports to the Farm Operations Manager for Stahmanns and Hidalgo. The Junior Farm Manager oversees chemical application crews. |

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Junior Farm Manager is responsible for all duties related to all Chemical applications. They will be in charge (but not limited to) of ensuring proper fertilization, weed control, scouting, pest control, training, equipment maintenance, and any other job necessary for the successful management of the farm.
- Manage and work well with machinery operators and laborers.
- Manage fertilizer applications.
- Manage the scouting team and plan and complete preventive and corrective applications to control pests and disease.
- Schedule and complete weed control tasks.
- Schedule and perform Pesticide applications on time. Be able to multitask different site applications.
- Keep all employees well-trained in all jobs the employee is expected to complete.
- Manage the maintenance team and ensure all equipment is taken care of and kept serviced.
- Uphold high standards for oneself and all employees.
- Take detailed notes of all work.
- Run farm management software.
- Collect data and write reports.
- Answer to the Farm Operations Manager and Ownership.
Necessary Skills and Knowledge
- Hardworking. Farming is not an easy job. It requires long hours and hard work.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time through effective delegation and excellent organization.
- Identify problems before they become an issue and propose solutions.
- Manage crises if they arise with a sense of urgency and a calm demeanor.
- Understanding of pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizer.
- Understanding of disease and pest management.
- Knowledge of all kinds of farm equipment and machinery.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of farm work and all farm activities
- Good interpersonal skills and capacity to lead.
- Practical experience in all farm activities.
- Experience with Excel and other computer programs.
- Excellent capacity for teamwork and relationship management with colleagues.
- Punctuality and reliability is critical.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements (Physical and Mental Demands)
- High School Diploma
- Fluent Spanish is absolutely required.
- Experience of at least 2-3 years in Pecan and Pistachio Farms.
- Private applicators license or ability to obtain it in the first year.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Must pass a drug test.
- Good driving record must be responsible and punctual
