Journeyman Plumber / Backflow Tester

Location: Lansing, MI

Pay: $38-$48 per hour, based on experience

Estimated Earnings: $85,000-$120,000+ annually

We are hiring an experienced Michigan Journeyman Plumber with a current Backflow Certification. This position handles residential and commercial service work, including diagnostics, repairs, installations, preventative maintenance, and certified backflow testing.

This is a full-time opportunity offering strong earning potential through overtime, commissions, and performance incentives.

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose and repair residential and commercial plumbing systems
• Complete plumbing installations, replacements, and preventative maintenance
• Install, inspect, maintain, and test backflow prevention devices
• Complete required backflow testing reports and documentation
• Service and install water heaters, fixtures, piping, and related equipment
• Troubleshoot complex plumbing problems and recommend effective solutions
• Clearly explain repair options, pricing, and completed work to customers
• Complete digital service notes, paperwork, and job documentation
• Follow plumbing codes, safety procedures, and company standards
• Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and professional appearance

Requirements

• Active Michigan Journeyman Plumbing License
• Current Backflow Certification
• Residential and commercial plumbing service experience
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with water heaters, fixtures, piping, and plumbing repairs
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and complete accurate digital documentation
