Position Overview
Our client is seeking a licensed and experienced Plumber to join their team in Asheville, NC. This is a full-time, field-based role offering consistent general contractor (GC) work across a variety of construction and remodeling projects.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in plumbing systems, construction environments, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to deliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities
Plumbing Installation & Maintenance
Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems across new construction, remodels, and existing structures
Work with piping systems, fixtures, and mechanical components using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment
Perform pipe threading, welding, and assembly to ensure durable and leak-free installations
Blueprints & Technical Execution
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
Accurately execute plumbing layouts, modifications, and system installations
Perform measurements and calculations to ensure precision in installations
Inspection & Compliance
Conduct on-site inspections to ensure compliance with local building codes, safety standards, and project specifications
Maintain high standards of workmanship and adhere to safety protocols at all times
Collaboration & Project Coordination
Work closely with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to coordinate timelines and project activities
Ensure seamless workflow and timely completion of assigned tasks
Troubleshooting & Mechanical Support
Utilize mechanical knowledge to diagnose and resolve plumbing and related system issues
Assist with troubleshooting components connected to HVAC and other mechanical systems when needed
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and inspections performed
Provide updates to supervisors and project stakeholders as required
Physical & Field Work Requirements
Safely lift and handle heavy materials and equipment
Work in various field conditions while adhering to all safety guidelines
Required Qualifications
Active Plumbing License (North Carolina required)
Proven experience in construction plumbing (residential and/or commercial)
Strong understanding of pipe installation, threading, assembly, and repair techniques
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
Hands-on experience with tools, equipment, and field service work
Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and industry best practices
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and material estimates
Preferred Qualifications
Additional certifications in welding, HVAC systems, or heavy equipment operation
Experience working in fast-paced construction or general contracting environments
Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision
