Job Description

Purpose:                              

The Jockey Driver will operate both gasoline and diesel-powered Jockey/Stake body trucks to make material movements.

Essential Functions:  

• Receive instructions from supervisor
• Perform Driver’s Daily Checklist on trucks used
• Check Fuel, oil, water, etc. Test steering, motor, brakes etc. for proper operation. Notify supervisor if repairs are needed
• Move trailers for all plants on the Reading facility
• Deliver trailers and facilitates weighing and logging moves  
• Perform duties of the metal handler classification as required
• Strap down and secure loads at RDC 
• Make local deliveries and moves as needed
• Operate lift truck, wheeled loader, and bobcat
• Keep tools clean and equipment clean, properly stored and in good working order
• Maintain good housekeeping in work area 

Physical Requirements:

• Walking or standing 80% of the shift
• Walking, bending, climbing, lifting, pulling, and pushing required
• Lifting up to 55 pounds

Qualifications:  

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma preferred but not required
• Must be able to operate mobile equipment including but not limited to forklifts and cranes
• Ability to organize material on machines as scheduled
• Must be able to work mandatory overtime as needed
• Must be able to work multiple shifts as needed
• Read micrometers, calipers and other measurement devices
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Basic computer skills
• Manufacturing experience preferred
