The Site Safety Representative acts as a dual-purpose champion for both operational integrity and external relations. This role is uniquely designed to balance 50% proactive safety leadership and 50% high-level customer service. You will be the face of Martin Marietta on-site, ensuring that every employee returns home safely while simultaneously ensuring that every customer, vendor, and contractor receives world-class service. By merging technical safety expertise with a "customer-first" mindset, you will facilitate a culture where compliance and excellence in service go hand-in-hand.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitate site-specific safety orientations for new hires, contractors, and visitors, ensuring they are fully equipped to work safely in an asphalt/industrial environment.
Oversee the inspection and maintenance of safety equipment, including PPE, fire suppression systems, and first-aid supplies.
Anticipate the relocation of concrete placement pumps, areas of congestion, and communication with central dispatch as it pertains to the customer’s unload rate, agreed upon “hold” volumes and/or order back yardage.
Manage the check-in process for all external parties, ensuring a seamless, welcoming, and safe transition from the gate to the loading zone.
High school diploma, GED, or relevant experience
ACI Field Testing Level I Certification is highly preferred.
1+ years of experience in Construction, Heavy Building Material, or Asphalt is required; 2+ years of Asphalt focused experience is preferred.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for plant maintenance and equipment servicing.
Required to bend, stoop, climb, and reach. You must be able to maintain three points of contact when climbing on/off machinery or on ladders.
Strong hand-eye-foot coordination is essential for operating hand/foot controls. You must have good depth perception with or without seeing aid for distances up to 150 feet.
All duties require outside assignments and require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry, and dusty. Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 dbs.
