Job Description

Hourly pay rate: Hire is $22.85, 6 months $23.42, 1 year $24.37

Job Responsibilities

1. Provides first level supervision in his/her assigned department

2. Through appropriate supervisory leadership and behavior, supports the environment outlined in the Jennie-O Turkey Store Charter, Team Commitment and Managing Principles

3. Maximize profit by assisting in organizing, staffing, coordinating and controlling production activities for least-cost production

4. Assist in training and development of new production employees

5. Provides supervisory leadership in applying quality processes in the department

6. Must be able to perform all positions throughout the department

7. Will be doing all equipment cooks

8. Must be willing to learn AS400

Minimum Qualifications

 * Able to work in a processing plant (which may be cold, damp, hot and humid)

 * Must be able to speak, read and write English

 * Thorough knowledge of all jobs within the department

 * Ability to work with minimal supervision

 * Must be willing to become CCP trained

 * Will become certified to operate hand jacks and become lock out trained, if not already

 * Simple math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) required

 * PHYSICAL: Able to climb stairs and/or work on elevated stands or platforms

Preferred Qualifications

 * Be willing and able to work a variety of shifts

 * High School diploma or equivalent preferred
