Join our team as a Purchasing Specialist, playing a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of packaging materials, equipment, parts, services, and supplies. Responsible for securing the best prices and guaranteeing on-time deliveries, while maintaining effective communication within the purchasing department and with internal customers. This position also involves monitoring insurance certificates for Jack Daniel's contractors and providing clerical support as needed. The role requires working within established policies and procedures, utilizing the SAP system. Regular hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional support needed during holidays for shutdowns in various areas like Distillery, Bottling, Processing, and Shipping.

What You Can Expect

  • Purchase goods and services as required by internal customers at the best cost and in a timely manner utilizing

  • SAP purchasing, P-cards, Internet services, etc.

  • Coordinates and communicates with suppliers and carriers to ensure that specified delivery dates are met on purchase orders issued by the purchasing group. Thus obtaining the best delivery of materials and services on a just in time basis at the lowest overall cost.

  • Ensure effective use and implementation of computerized SAP system.

  • At direction of buyers and manager, release materials as needed with suppliers.

  • Review and resolves claims and complaints with suppliers regarding unsatisfactory Materials and services.

  • Maintains contact and effective working relationships with all levels of personnel both Internal and external.

  • While working with suppliers will maintain a current contractor insurance certificate database.

  • Complete special reports regarding items such as ISO, P-card, etc.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Have a Bachelors degree with 1 year of experience in purchasing, warehousing, shipping, inventory control, spirits industry, or related business field.

  • Demonstrated efficiency with SAP software, Lotus notes and Microsoft office.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain, effective working relationships with all levels of personnel, both internal and external.

  • Demonstrated administrative skills necessary to establish the proper work priorities: ability to act with initiative regarding follow-up and the completion of tasks.

  • Demonstrated oral communication skills in a professional manner.
